This is a Request for Proposals for Host Sites of the KAA Annual Conference for the Years 2027 - 2029
HOSTING CRITERIA FOR THE KAA ANNUAL CONFERENCE
One of the signature events that KAA offers is the Kansas Airports Association Annual Conference. This conference has steadily grown in attendance and evolved in scope since the first occurrence in 2000. Today’s conference reflects a diverse set of programmatic breakout sessions, round table discussions, local and regional speakers responding to current FAA policy and airport administration challenges, as well as ample networking opportunities for attendees to meet colleagues from across the region and around the state. Recently, the conference has been held in October, however, for this 3-year selection, it is intended that the conference will occur in June over a three-day period with ample pre and/or post conference programming, including local tours that accompany the conference sessions.
Conference planning begins with selecting a conference site and a local host city. KAA is unique in that we will only hold our conference in a city that has a member airport, as that airport is a partner and leader in the conference planning process. KAA strives to invite proposals from member airports/communities to apply to host the conference as far in advance as possible. The proposals are reviewed by a Site Selection Committee who assess each application based on their geographic diversity (compared to previous years), the variety of local venues and activities, and their alignment with KAA mission and goals.
